Diona has been attending school for the past 4 weeks and am impressed with her improvement. She can count 1-10 and learn to sing a few nursery rhymes but she is getting more playful than before. Well at least she enjoys going to school. Good for her.

It's coming towards the end of 2010. 2010 was an exciting year for us. We have our ups and downs with so many hidden surprises for us. Charles will be attending primary 1 at next year and his sister Diona is also attending childcare centre next year. We hope both of them can adjust well to the new environment and certainly hoped that things will continue to flow smoothly for us. What a hectic year!

Mummy is so busy with work these days. She hardly had time to update the blog. Well, Charles is adapting well at school. Thank goodness. I also want to thank his schoolmate "Alethea" who showered him with a lot of care. She is a very sweet girl. HAHA Charles is learning inline skating at school and he enjoys it very much. He has shown improvement in his mandarin but not in writing definitely. Overall, I felt happy for his improvement.

Diona has a simple 1yr old birthday. She is walking very well now but she still refused to call daddy. At times, I heard her calling me MAMA but sometimes she calls me Ah MA. She is as adorable as before.

Charles still does not get used to the long hours at child care centre. Poor boy, he cries everyday morning when I leave him there. He wants Mummy to fetch him early. We cannot do much as Mummy have to work. We hoped he can adjust to it soon. Other than this, we can see improvement in his mandarin. We like him to sing " mai tang yuan" song.

Diona is turning 1 soon this month. She knows how to crawl, stand and walk 1 or 2 steps, however she still refused to call DADA or MAMA. She is such adorable girl. We caught her pulling her leg and the old folks believed that there will be another sibling in future if the baby pull their leg. NO NO say Mum.

This year is a busy year for us. Charles is attending his K2 in a new school (The Little Skool House). First week of school, he enjoys very much but on the second week he is a bit relunctant to go school. He always tell me that he doesn't want to bath at school. I guess he is shy since that he usually bath at home throughout his years. Now he has to bath together with the other children . I hope he will adapt to it soon. He has to wake up with Mummy at 6.30am and return home 7pm. He has reminded me that not to find a school that is so far from our home in future. It's a long and tiring day for him but I can see that he is more independent now. This is good for him because afterall he is attending Pri 1 next year 2011. He has to spend at least half a day at school. Talking about Primary school, the choices of school created a big headaches for Daddy and Mummy. We are in a dilemma of which school to choose as he is going to spend 6 years+Diona another 6 years also. That is to say, it could be our last house. We are planning to stay close to parent so that they can drop by to take care of him and not forgetting his reminder "not to find a school so far from home". However with the rising trend of property market, I doubt we can afford a apartment that is near to our parent as both our parent are staying near to hot estate. Some apartments are not worth paying so much for, we have to take into consideration in future should we sell it, will anyone want to pay that price. Well we will know the school result by July this year and hopefully we can find our new nest.

We are just 6hours behind year 2010. We better sum up what we did in December 09. For my birthday, we had a small bbq birthday with family members at grandmother's place , then went to a few xmas parties, church, also went excursion with new classmates from "Little Skool House" to goats' farm and longkang fishing. We also went to watch the Singapore idol at Singapore indoor stadium. And tomorrow we are going to the ZOO! Happy New Year!!

We went for a short trip to Fukuoka in November without Diona. Mummy misses her so much. We should bring her along the next time. And for Charles, he enjoys the most especially the bath tub at the hotel. He kept asking what time are we going back to the hotel almost everyday. And he can soaked in the bath tub for half an hour every night, then get dressed and have his milk and off to his dreamland *snoring*. In Japan, the whole stretch of shopping malls and underground shopping malls are mostly for women. We prefers sightseeing and eating as it is in winter season and there is not much shopping we can do (all winter wears). We enjoyed eating the authentic ramen, steamboat, buffet and sushi. We loved Japanese cusine. Sushi is Charles' favourite. He likes the ebiko and the salmon sushi. Nowadays kids are so fortunate. Mummy only learned how to eat sashimi sushi after she met Daddy. Well, we heard that Nagasaki is a nice place to go to. Perhaps we shall bring Diona the next time. Mummy loves these two photos. See below. I prefer Charles to be the rein deer.

Daddy is more involved with Diona. He is the one who brought her for vaccination jabs. Yesterday he brought her to see doctor as she is down with runny nose/cough. Last night he puts her to bed, sings lullaby to her. Although she is daddy's girl, she will cry if Mummy never carry her after return back from work. She needs Mummy's cuddle.

And for Charles, he scored well in his spelling and chinese spelling. The credit goes to Daddy again. He is the teacher and discipline master at home. Charles is mummy's boy. He usually ask permission from Mummy when comes to eating snacks or going out to play. Well, his Mummy is more lenient and because his mum likes to snack too. Daddy always tell her " Watch your waist" but he is the one who brings back the tidbits.

Charles enjoys his school for the past two years very much. Well, he will be changing school next year (near to Mummy's workplace). He will miss his friends/teachers very much. We hope he can make more new friends in the new school. The good thing is that he can now celebrate his birthday with his new classmates. He has always wanted me to buy a cake and goodies bags for his current classmates to celebrate his birthday, however school holiday usually falls in December(his birthday). Hopefully, he can adapt himself to the new school.

My First Dip in the swimming pool

The weather was extremely hot and humid these few days. Mummy allows me to go for a dip with the guys since I have a swim suit but not too long. She was afraid that I might catch a cold. Everyone (daddy/mummy/especially kor kor) was so excited about my first reaction. Initially, I was a bit confused when i was put in the water float. The cold feeling made me pee. My legs dangling in the cold water. The wind brushes my face and out of sudden, my playful brother splashes water onto me that made my heart jumps a little. He thought it was fun doing that but in the end he got a scolding instead. Towards the end, I starts paddling around the pool like a duckling (Quack Quack). It was an enjoyable day that I began to like to play in the pool afterall.

Last Friday (21Aug09), Daddy was working night shift. While he was getting ready for work, I prepared his shoes at the door and lead him there. Daddy told Mummy he was surprised and very touched by my little action! What a sensible boy....

Later in the same evening before bedtime, while Mummy is brushing her teeth getting ready to turn in, I noticed Diona already doze off into her dreamland...Zzz..zz. I gently placed her pillow for meimei so that she can sleep better. Was caught in the act by Mummy and she told Daddy about it too.

We went to Cameron Highland in June for a 2day 1 night stay. Mummy wants to go for a short trip before heading back to work (after 3 mths of maternity leave). During my stay there, mummy and daddy secretly added breastmilk into my formula milk *angry*. No wonder i feel the taste is different * yucks*

This is my one and only sister, Diona. Daddy brought her for injection last friday. She is a brave girl. Now at 4mths, she weighs 7.2kg. Watch your figure! Mei Mei. She can turn on her tummy and looks like a happy seal. Well, she practises very hard everyday.

Mummy has been very busy after going back to work, we have a great daddy who watch over us, bring us to jab, do the feeding at night, play with us, teach me spelling, tidy the house. Till one day he told mum, " This is tough, stay at home whole day (his off days) watch over kids, all my things( market shares/email/fish thingy) cannot do". That was the initial 2 weeks of complaints, now he is enjoying it. Thank you Daddy! We love you.

Finally, Baby Diona has decided to arrive before april. she was a lovely girl. When Mummy was pushed out from the operation theatre, the first voice she heard was from daddy telling her that "Tell you a secret, she resembles me". Well, Daddy's genes was too strong though she hoped that Diona can resemble her haha. Anyway, Mummy has decided to close shop. ;) Charles has been very helpful upon her arrival. He helps to take/throw diaper, take the napkin, take her milk bottle etc. Keep up the good work Charles ! Somehow we find that he has grown up all of sudden. He is no longer the cute adorable toddler he used to be. He is a young boy now. He likes to hug and kiss her younger sister everynow and then . Well, he get jealous too.

In the evening, he told Mummy that his arms and legs are aching while watching tv. He is looking forward to his next lesson. Last weekend, I celebrated my 4th yrs old birthday. Mummy and Daddy brought me to see my younger sister. I get to hear her heartbeat and see her on the screen when the gynae is doing the scanning on Mummy's tummy. This is my first time seeing her. I am looking forward seeing her soon in April 2009. Thereafter, we headed to fish & co restaurant for our lunch and do some shopping before we went back home as Mummy is tired. Daddy ordered a durian birthday cake for me and we cut it at home. When Daddy and Mummy starts to sing the birthday song, I cried.... Daddy and Mummy was shocked to see me in tears . Well maybe I was too touched and happy. Haha.

US Trip in Sep 08 (LA & LV)

Wow, it's been a long time since mummy do the updates. Mummy is so busy with her job transition in Aug , the US trip in Sep and settling into her new workplace in Oct. Well talking about the US trip, Charles enjoyed himself very much because he have nothing to worry. He is able to sleep well in the flight/car/hotel. He tried a few rides and 4D show in the theme park( Disneyland/California Adverture/Seaworld/Universal Studio) and surrendered himself for the rest of the rides and even shows. Actually Mummy is a scary cat but she hides it from Charles and pretend to be brave, but Charles actually caught mum shutting eyes a few times. Charles usually sticks to Daddy who is so called his " protection angel" for all these rides and shows. Charles likes to see Cartoon characters like Mickey mouse, Minnie etc but dare not take photographs with them. He is not used to them. Guess what, Charles did his first drawing of Daddy and Mummy in the hotel one day. I forgotten where did I put the paper. Will put it up if I found it. The other places we visited are Hoover Dam and Grand Canyon at LV.

Finally we get to sit the Ferris Wheel and play at explorer kid . I enjoyed myself so much at the big playground and the snake & ladder game. There are only 3 activities where I can play as some of the activities is more suitable for older children. Well, it would be even more fun if my friends can join me there. Last saturday, we went to Pasir Ris fish farm to feed the fishes. I had an enjoyable time there feeding the fishes and the turtles.We decided to route to Pasir Ris Park on our way home . They have horse riding and pony feeding activities. Most of the children dared not feed the ponies. I am not the only one haha...You can catch me on the video.

Last wednesday, my dad and mum took me to downtown east. The place I have been longing to go . The Ferris Wheel attracted me the most whenever my school bus passes by. It's more beautiful at night. I didn't get to sit as we want to make use of the explorer kid promotion the next time we visit as we want to have fun at explorer kid too . From outside view, I already know I am going to have a lot of fun in there. It's so exciting. I can't wait Daddy Mummy!

Steamboat dinner at 7th Storey Hotel

Hi all, it has been quite a while since Daddy last wrote on my blog...Well I know he's busy but Mummy is doing a good job with constant updates of photos. Well done mummy...and daddy too!!!

Last night we had delicious Steamboat dinner at the 7th Storey Hotel, it generated so much interest within nostalgic fellow Singaporeans. It will be demolished to make way for new MRT line by end of 2008, it could be my first & last dinner at the hotel.

I walked around with Daddy and visited the "Manual Lift" inside the hotel...we were impressed, unfortunately it only allow hotel guests to use it...otherwise we will jump in for a ride! I'm sure we will enjoy it....

Well let get back to the dinner table, we had lot of vegetables,tofu and my fav assorted mushrooms *yummy*. We also had the famous Hai Nam Chicken rice and Fried prawn rolls...*delicious*.

Not forgetting the traditional dessert Gui Ling Gao which I don't like it coz it's black and bitter!!! I still prefer the Mango pudding which I share with my JiuJiu *smile*

Observation towards age of 4

Teacher called yesterday that Charles has a bruise on his lip yesterday at school. Both he and his classmate knocked into each other accidently. I went home and asked him " How are you? Teacher told daddy that your lip bleeds after the accident. Are you ok?" This is what he says "yes, there is water coming out from my eyes" Haha..I laughed. " That is tearsdrop my dear, not water." He learned one new word. I am surprised that till now then he only realised that there is "water" coming out from his eyes when he cry. That is funny. Another thing, he was a emotional young man. He was watching Sesame street whereby big bird's nest was blown away by the hurricane. Big bird was sad that she lost her nest. Toward the end of the show, he looked sadly and almost burst out crying and told me that " Mummy, I don't like this show". From then onwards, he doesn't like to watch it anymore. Barney show is his preferred show. The morale of the story, children are naive and simple minded.

Hello everyone, this is my nursery school uniform. I study in Shalom Church Kindergarten. I will be there for 3 years then I will be promoted to primary school "big boys school". My mummy told me this when I want to return to my playgroup school at Creative thinkers. I enjoyed myself at the playgroup, a lot of good memories . Presently, I have to learn to write, recognise all alphabet. I hope I can enjoy as much as in the playgroup. *Smile*

Hardy was in Singapore last weekend. He looked big, isn't he?We had a night out in Clarke Quay. We went for seafood and cruise around Singapore River. We have great time with him. We hoped to visit him one day in Germany in the near future.

We went to watch Barney's show yesterday. It was an hour show, Charles enjoyed it very much. He danced and sang the familiar barney songs. I must say most of the children enjoy it very much "cheering at their idols". Great show!

Holiday class at Zoo Phonics

I am glad that Charles enjoyed himself at the holiday classes. On the first day, I was worried that he may refused to go to the new school as this is his first time there. I told him that the teachers will give out popcorn and candy floss as the theme of the programme was circus. He braved it out for the sake of the popcorn. *smile* it works. Honestly, on the programme sheet , it did mention about popcorn and candy floss but did not mention whether it is meant for distributing. Everyday when I reach home after work, he will come running and tell me that "Mummy, teacher never give out popcorn" Mummy said " Oh really, It's ok, maybe they will give out tomorrow. I will buy for you if they did not give out." Today is friday, I have to buy popcorn for him. It's my promise to him. I agreed with daddy. Childrens' memory are awesome. They remembered the things that you promised to them, therefore you better keep your promise. Cheers

Today our little darling is going for his 1st holiday supplementary class at a different school, hope he enjoy himself as always. Going to new school take some courage from the little ones (some are brave, some are reserve) they do hold back initially to access the situation before they start playing with other kids.

Sometimes I learn a lot from their natural instinct and innocent ways they react....it's so real w/o any scheming thought unlike adults! Whenever we talk to kids, we realise it's genuine answer they are seeking. And they do have good memory....so do not put a fast one on them.

I wish I hv more patience and able to spend more time with Charles in his growing up years. I hope to nurture and act as a role model for him. Ultimately one day he will be even better than his own role model Daddy/Mummy and continue improving on his own strengths!

Hi everybody,

This morning I had a wonderful time with daddy. We took some pictures of his Stingrays...YES! Stingray!!!

We carefully netted them up then slowly place them into my bath-tub(well...my old bath-tub) then pour away excess water. Happily clicking away...will post those sexy rays "model" soon.

Surprisingly, those rays are quite tame and the session was smooth as water flow. They didn't struggle much and fly like kite when released back into the tank.

Not all are bad...

According to his teachers,he's a cheerful boy who express himself well and likes to share/care for fellow classmates.

He's especially close to one of his female classmate and gave him stickers everyday *quite a charming boy*

He also need more encouragement on his Chinese language(spoken and written).

Somehow he love to sing and dance to Chinese songs and story-telling too.

Daddy attended the parent session last friday. Teacher said that Charles's attention span is short. He likes to go around chit chatting with his classmates rather than doing his work. He is not focus in his work and he is behind his classmates. Mummy's goal "less playing time and more studying time for Charles". Let see how he fare in the year end report. Daddy, any good point to elaborate?

Hi all,

This is Charles's daddy (My 1st virgin blog post in life is dedicated to our lovely son).

This blog setup took me by surprise and very proud of my wife who initiated it.

Well I like reading more than writing (blog etc) since it for Charles, I reckon I just have to do it.

Will share more in times to come...since "a picture tells a thousand words", we will post more photos with captions to make it more interesting (mummy to note...kena arrowed liao!!!)

I love my dad's goatie but I do not like him to rub on my face. My skin feels prickly. Do you think I will become "Ho Chiu" too next time when I hit puberty? haha...but my girlfriend will definitely love it just like my mom : )
